Paris in June Weather
At this point, almost every time I’ve been in Paris in the summer, I’ve been there in the midst of a heat wave. They’re becoming more and more common as the years go on.
I will share the average temperatures and weather below, but understand that heat waves can and do happen, especially as you get into the later part of June and into July. I was there during a few days of heat, and then it rained one day and cooled back down a little. It really can feel unpredictable.
So regardless, always check the weather forecast (The Weather Channel works just fine) before your visit and pack accordingly.

Paris in June Weather Averages:
- Average high: 74-80ºF / 23-27ºC
- Average low: 58-64ºF / 14-18ºC
- Number of days with precipitation: 8 days
- Hours of daylight: 15 hours 53 minutes-16 hours 10 minutes
When I was there last June, I will say that it was warm, and then got really hot the day of the Versailles Ball (and the AC at our Airbnb wasn’t working, of course!). While getting ready consisted of everyone hanging out in the dining room with the windows open and the fans blasting, it worked out. And at night, Paris mercifully cools down.
That is to say, in the summer in Paris, ALWAYS get a hotel with AC (I’ll share hotel suggestions below).
June weather in Paris is warm to hot, but overall pretty nice!
And the days are long! In fact, the sun rises on June 1 at 5:51 am and sets at 9:45 pm, and on the longest day of the year (June 21), the sun rises at 5:46 am and sets at 9:57 pm!
What to Wear in Paris in June

Now that you know the weather, you can see that mornings can feel a little bit chilly, but the afternoons are nice and warm! Here is what to pack.
- Sneakers. Sneakers are key for walking around the city all day. I wouldn’t recommend wearing sandals all day simply because your feet will get filthy. I love my Adidas sneakers. Men’s version here.
- Socks. You’ll need socks for your sneakers! Personally, if I’m wearing shorts or a skirt, I’m wearing short socks. But you do you.
- Jeans/trousers: Yes, these still work, especially on not as hot days. The Monday after the Versailles Ball, it had rained overnight and cooled down, so I was perfectly comfortable in trousers and a short-sleeved shirt all day. Men’s jeans here.
- Skirts. I love a longer skirt that looks so cute with a short-sleeve top and sneakers!
- Shorts. I’m so thankful that France has embraced wearing shorts. That being said, booty shorts will get you weird looks. Longer, baggy shorts are popular (I look ridiculous in them with my short legs, but again, you do you!). Also, dressier shorts or regular, cute shorts work too. Men’s shorts here.
- Short-sleeve tops/tanks. I’ll be honest, I love my simple wardrobe. I wear a lot of cute, t-shirts, and mix and match with my bottoms. Men’s shirts here.
- Dresses. You can wear a sundress again and be comfortable depending on the weather!
- Cotton overshirt. I love a white cotton button-down shirt that I’ll layer over tops, dresses, etc. to stay warm in the mornings and evenings.
- Light jacket. And for mornings and evenings, a jean jacket or other light jacket can be a good idea. Men’s jacket here. I didn’t need one when I was there, but again, you do you.
- Umbrella. As always, bring an umbrella as it can rain!
Always check the weather forecast beforehand so that you pack accordingly!

June Events in Paris

What do I love most about Paris in June? ALL the amazing events! From the twice a year sales known as Soldes to arguably the best night of the year, let’s talk about events!
- Roland-Garros (May 18-June 7, 2026): The French Open tennis tournament is back and is typically in May/early June.
- Nuit Blanche (June 6, 2026): This is an all-night cultural event including concerts, performances, art installations, and many museums and galleries open to the public. Celebrate the arts on an epic night on the town.
- Paris Jazz Festival: This typically takes place throughout the summer from June through September with various performances. It takes place at the Parc du Floral in Bois de Vincennes.
- Fête de la Musique (June 21): Held on the longest day of the year, this is in all likelihood the best night to be in Paris, possibly the entire year. Paris comes to life with concerts and dancing in the streets on the longest day of the year! It’s like a giant Paris block party! Dance the night away as you celebrate the start of summer.
- Fashion Week (June 23-28, 2026): Paris Fashion Week for Menswear is happening this June.
- Soldes (June 24-July 21, 2026): Twice a year, France has Soldes, which are country-wide sales periods. The first one takes place in the winter, and this is the summer Soldes. So go shopping and enjoy the discounts!
- Grand Masked Ball at Versailles (June 27, 2026): I got to go to this, and it was nothing short of epic! This is an all-night rave in the Orangerie at Versailles complete with EDM music and performances. Plus, it ends at sunrise with breakfast in the gardens. Oh, and beforehand you can enjoy the evening fireworks over the Grand Canal. It was a night that went by too quickly but was nothing short of spectacular.
- Paris Pride (June 20-27, 2026): Paris celebrates Pride in June, ending with the Pride Parade on the final day and parties afterward. Check out the Pride Parade details here. Other events include a race, event evenings, a drag show, and more!
- Fête du Cinema (June 28-July 1): Film lovers will love visiting Paris in June for the film festival!
- Fête des Tuileries: From late June through August, the Jardin des Tuileries has its fun fair with rides and things to do for the family!

Things to Do in Paris in June

With long days and sunshine, here is what to do in Paris in June.
1. Wander the Coulée Verte.
The Coulée Verte René-Dumont is a 4.5 km (2.8-mile) path that was once a railway line. It starts around Bastille and ends near the Bois de Vincennes, making it a great path for walking or running on a nice day!
2. Explore the Woods of Paris.
Paris actually has 2 giant woods: Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne.
Bois de Vincennes is Paris’s largest park, and even has a chateau! Explore Chateau de Vincennes, the Parc Floral de Paris, plenty of walking paths, and even a couple of lakes. Lac Daumesnil even has a charming Love Temple!
Bois de Boulogne has some lakes, several places to walk, the Jardin d’Acclimation, and even the Foundation Louis Vuitton.
If you want to get out of the city and be in nature a bit more, there are massive wooded areas to do so!
3. Spend a Long Evening at a Park for a Picnic.

Of course, with long days, why not enjoy an evening picnic with wine, cheese, baguettes, and charcuterie? It’s the Parisian way!
Some of my favorite parks include:
- Parc des Buttes-Chaumont
- Parc Monceau
- Jardin du Luxembourg
- Jardin des Tuileries
- Place des Vosges
Oh, and you can also picnic by the Seine or along the Canal Saint-Martin!
4. Cool Off at a Waterpark!
Visiting Paris in June with kids? Or just a kid at heart? There is a large indoor-outdoor waterpark with waterslides, a wave pool, and more!
It’s called Aquaboulevard, and it’s in the 15th arrondissement. So if you happen to be here during one of Paris’s famous heat waves, this is a great place to go!

5. Watch the Eiffel Tower Sparkle Late.
With sunset closer to 10 pm, you may not even catch the Iron Lady glimmering until then! Yes, it is late! Thankfully, the Eiffel Tower shines later in the summer months, finishing up after the 1 am light show.
That means at the peak of summer, you only get 4 chances to see her sparkle!
The Eiffel Tower lights up around dusk and sparkles for the first 5 minutes on the hour after nightfall. The tower goes dark at 1 am, and the final show at that time is the sparkles without the tower being lit up! It’s really neat to see!
You can enjoy watching her sparkle from a Seine evening cruise (just time it properly!), where you get to enjoy the city lit up at night and the Eiffel Tower in all its glory!
6. Explore the Museums.

When you want to get out of the sun, you may want to explore some museums. Bear in mind that AC isn’t always a thing in museums.
But this is a great time to go on a guided tour of the Louvre, especially an evening tour when the Louvre is open later on Wednesday and Friday. This one is lovely, and it ends in front of the Mona Lisa right before closing, so you get to see her at her most peaceful!
You’ll also want to make reservations for Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie to enjoy the most wonderful paintings!
Now, entering peak Paris travel months, you should 100% prebook tickets for these museums as they will be crowded and can sell out.
However, you can also check out some smaller museums of Paris that won’t be as packed as the Louvre.
Here are a few ideas:
- Musee Rodin
- CLUNY Museum (Museum of the Middle Ages)
- Carnavalet Museum (Paris History Museum)
- Montmartre Museum
- Musee de la Vie Romantique
Check out my guide to smaller museums in Paris here!

7. Head to a Rooftop Bar.
Long nights in Paris make for a fabulous opportunity to head to a rooftop bar for sunset and evening drinks.
Some great places to check out include Maggie Rooftop Paris at Hotel Rochechouart, Perruche, ROOF Paris, and Le Perchoir.
8. Head to a Market.

I suggest this every month in Paris, and that is because the markets have great seasonal produce, and who doesn’t love going to a local market? See seasonal produce like artichokes, tomatoes, berries, melons, beans, cherries, peppers, radish (perfect for radish and butter!), figs, and more!
Here are some markets to check out:
- Raspail Market: Tuesday & Friday from 7 am-1:30 pm.
- Rue Mouffetard Market Street: Everyday except Monday from around 8 am-1 pm. However, weekends are the best time to go.
- Rue Cler Market Street: There are many shops and things that have varying opening times. Many are closed on Monday all day and Sunday afternoons. But it is typically open all day until around 8 pm Tuesday-Saturday.
- Place Monge Market: Wednesday & Friday from 7 am-2:30 pm. Sunday from 7 am-3 pm.
- Maubert Market: Tuesday & Thursday from 7 am-2:30 pm. Saturday from 7 am-3 pm.
- March d’Aligre: Tuesday-Friday from 7:30 am-1:30 pm and Saturday-Sunday from 7:30 am-2:30 pm. The covered market is open from Tuesday-Friday from 9 am-1 pm and 4-7:30 pm, Saturday is from 9 am-1 pm and 3:30-7:30 pm, and Sunday is from 9 am-1:30 pm.
- Bastille Market: Thursday from 7 am-2:30 pm and Sunday from 7 am-3 pm.
9. Day Trips From Paris in June.

Want to get out of the city and explore more of France for a day? Here are great day trip ideas in June!
- D-Day Beaches. The anniversary of D-Day is on June 6. So you can take a full-day guided trip from Paris to visit the D-Day beaches and American cemetery to pay your respects. Here is a Canadian tour as well.
- Giverny. Explore Monet’s house and gardens in Giverny, admire the water lily pond, and enjoy all the flowers in bloom!
- Loire Valley. The Loire Valley is a long but fun day trip from Paris! Frolic amongst chateaux and their gardens and explore a cute town in the Loire on this day trip from Paris.
- Reims. This is an easy day trip from Paris as you can hop on the TGV train and explore Champagne houses- just be sure to book tours and tastings at Champagne Houses in advance as they book up! Don’t forget to explore Reims Cathedral – this is where most of the French royalty was crowned!
- Mont Saint Michel. Another long day trip, but you can book this tour and explore the iconic tidal island and church at the top!
- Provins. Hop on a quick hour and 15 minute train to Provins, a Medieval town with ramparts to explore!
- Deauville. Want to have a beach day but can’t get to the beach? Take a train to Deauville! It’s about 2 hours and 17 minutes via train from Paris, and it is lovingly known as both the “Hamptons of Paris” and “Paris’s 21st arrondissement.” It’s where many Parisians go for a getaway from the city and much-needed sandy beaches. Located in Normandy, it’s a lovely town with a long, gorgeous sandy beach that is perfect on a hot day!

Where to Stay in Paris in June

I said it above, but having a hotel with air conditioning is ESSENTIAL in June and in the summer months. Thankfully, yes, Paris does cool down at night, but some days can be hot here!
Here are hotels with AC in Paris:
- Terrass Hotel: If you want to splurge, upgrade to a room with an Eiffel Tower view that way you can enjoy the views of the Eiffel Tower sparkling late at night from the comfort of your room in your pajamas. I loved my stay here! Book it here!
- Hotel Joyce – Astotel: This is usually a more budget-friendly hotel, although if you’re coming during a big event like Fete de la Musique, prices may be higher. This was such a cute hotel to stay in! Book it here!
- Hotel Artemisia Montmartre: When our Airbnb AC wasn’t working, eventually we had one friend give up and went to a nearby hotel. This was the hotel, and she said it was great and had good AC. Book it here!

Is Visiting Paris in June Worth It?

Yes, Paris in June is the start of summer, and the city is full of life and energy! I absolutely loved my time in June in Paris and would highly recommend it.
That being said, if you don’t like traveling to hot places, hate crowds (although you can avoid them depending on where you go), and you’re on a budget, then this may not be the best time of year to visit.
Frequently Asked Questions

Before we wrap up my guide to Paris in June, here are some answers to frequently asked questions!
1. Is June a busy time to visit Paris?
Yes, June is a busy time to visit Paris. June and July are some of the busiest months of the year to visit. That being said, you can still find corners of the city that aren’t super crowded, but if you’re going to the main touristy sites, yes, they’ll be busy.
2. Do I need reservations for attractions in June?
Yes, you do! It’s always a good idea to purchase tickets for things like the Louvre, Musee de l’Orangerie, the Eiffel Tower, and Musée d’Orsay in advance as they book up. However, it is even more important to do it in the summer as they can sell out.
3. Are Paris restaurants and shops open in June?

Unfortunately, you’re entering Paris’s busiest and most expensive time of year. Hotels that would normally be budget-friendly ramp up prices, particularly around big events like Fete de la Musique and on weekends.
